Hong Kong
Beijing, China
Hong Kong

I love Hong Kong! Its bright light buildings are just gorgeous at night, like a free lazer show beaming towards the sky. It's like NYC but with Chinese writing everywhere. The food is incredibley good and I must say that I love Chinese food. It's cheap and that's the best part about it. But, you have to go to those restaurants in the little alleys to get the cheap/good eats. If you love shopping…it's the place to be. Bargain and you'll get what you want for cheap. Even if you don't bargain, it'll still be cheap. I only stayed there for one day so I didn't see that much, just the city.

Beijing, China

I stept off the plane in Beijiing and I felt like I was in a room full of smokers. The smog in Beijing looks like fog that you can see and walk right through. With 1.3 billion people living in China, I can now understand why they have the one-child family. Although, it seems as though the one-child family rule works well to decrease their on-growing population, I saw many sad faces with a family of one. China's people has suffered tremendously over their depressing history with their corrupted rulers. I felt their pain as I sat on the bus looking through the glass window onto a neighborhood of homeless families. A knot in my throat formed and a tear rolled down my cheak and on to my shirt. It was a sad sight.

China is a beautiful country with beautiful people but change needs to happen to better the lives for its people. China has potential but I don't see it grasping it tightly enough to help it progress and grow. It's been better than before but I guess it's gradually improving.

On to a better lighter note, if you love cheap clothes and souvenirs, go to the silk market. It's a market on Silk Road. It's the best place to go!

Description of Pictures Above

I went to the Forbidden City, Heavenly Palace, Temple of Heaven, Peace Palace, Great Wall of China, Tiannanmen Square and stayed at the Peace Palace Hotel where Madelyn was my roommate and an awesome one, too!

I definitely enjoyed myself in China. I hope you enjoyed reading it, too. I'll see you in my country, Vietnam.
