Dubrovnik, Croatia
Medugorje, Bosnia
Dubrovnik, Croatia

Everyone was really afraid for me when they heard that I was going to go to Croatia. Due to their war with the Serbs, they have obtained this warlike unsafe image. Contrary to popular belief, it's a rather safe country and a place I probably will come back. It's people are extremely nice and have so much to offer to the world. It's just that the world doesn't give it a chance. Dubrovnik used to be a place that many people visited for vacation but since the war, the country is rather vacant. Croatia is a wonderful country and a place I feel very safe walking around at night by myself. The war is definitely over and so do visit it you get the chance because it's beautiful and their food is so so good. I ate so many pizzas and drank so many cappucinos. Their pizzas are one of the best in the world! Oh…I miss it!

On the last day in Dubronik, Galen and I went to buy some sticks, fishing line, hook, and bate. We went fishing on the dock and had the best time. I realize that I love fishing. It's so relaxing and time seems to stop while you fish. I guess it's the wait that makes time slow down. I caught three fish and Galen caught about three, too. We put them back in the water and saw them swim away to freedom.

Oh, in the middle of the five day in Croatia, I went to Medugorje, Bosnia.

Medugorje, Bosnia

Coming from a Catholic family, I was really excited to visit Medugorje. It is a holy place indeed because according to history, in 1981, six children saw Virgin Mary appeared on top of the hill. I came to that hill along with many other students. We did two rosaries and went to mass twice that day. I went to confession, too. It was a rather religious day for me. I prayed a lot and did quite a bit of thinking about everything, life, love, education, and my family and friends. It's a great place to sit and just let your mind go. I enjoyed it very much. I also had one of the best conversations with Matt that night. I learned a lot from him that night. Thanks, Matt.

I hope you have learned a little about Bosnia and Croatia. They are both safe countries to visit so if you have the travel bug, like I always do, go! I'll see you in Rome, Italy
