When I was in 6th grade, I told my older sister, Chi Huyen that I would one day visit the Great Pyramids. She said that it would be ridiculous idea and a place that I would probably won't go. Vietnam, yes, Cairo, No. I didn't know when I would go or how I would get there but I would be there one day. Surely enough, I was there. Egypt's history fascinates me more than artwork. Actually, it is a piece of marvelous artwork that is praised by many and admired by almost everyone. The Great Pyramids is definitely a living phenomenon that makes you keep wondering and thinking, how on earth did they ever build it? Ai…it stretches my mind and excercises it in ways I love. I wonder sometimes if man will ever figure it out in my lifetime?
Anyhow, Egypt is a beautiful country that has the oldest standing monument in the world. I must say that I feel fortunate to have seen them and climb them. We were only there for two days and one night and it was not enough. I didn't even sleep that night. Brian S., Matt, and I spent the night out in a live part of town where kids were still out playing around at two in the morning. We then headed towards the Pyramids around 5:30am and saw the sun rise ever so gently over the Pyramids. At the same time, camel riders were asking us desparately to ride their Mickey Mouse or their Charle Brown. I didn't ride one but I knew I should but I did't. They weren't the nicest people in the world, they were too forceful and I just didn't want to be bothered with it.
I wished that we would spend more time there because it's beautiful there. Along the Nile River, there's quite a few historical artifacts. I'd like to see them one day. Maybe I'll be back there again. Anyhow, I hope you enjoyed Egypt as much as I did. I'll see you in Istanbul, Turkey
