After two weeks of traveling in the Pacific Ocean with no land in site, everyone was really excited to see the first country, Japan. We arrived in Kobe, Japan and many students woke up early to see us get there. Oh…it was the most wonderful feeling to see such a beautiful city with tall skyscrapers and immaculate streets. Japan as a whole is one of the most advance country I've been at and it has a warm welcoming atmosphere that brings a smile to your face. The country's free spirited, fast pace, structured lifestyle, advanced technology impressed me immensely. I wanted to have more time to explore it's culture in depth but time did not permit me to, but I know I will be back there. I have to visit my friend Curtis in Hemeji, Sachie in Tokyo, and Chiaki, where do you live? I'll visit you, too!
Anyhow, Japan is one of the best cities to visit if you ever have the chance. Why? It has delicious food, so many varieties you're want it all, and it doesn't taste like the noodles in America. Oh no! It's better!!!! Everything runs on time, so you'll never be late for anything. The trains are very efficient. The cities in Japan have everything you want. It's clean, safe, and young people are always out doing things until late in the night. But, the best thing about Japan is the people, they are so nice and kind. They love Americans! The only thing that I don't like about Japan is the money deal. It's really expensive so if you're planning to have Kobe beef, you'll better prepare to bring lots of money. :-)
Description of Pictures Above
I first spent some time in Kobe exploring the city with Phoebe, our inter-port students from Hong Kong with some Japanese students. We met them at welcome reception. Then, I went to Kyoto with Ben, Mike, Heidi, and Phoebe. We saw a million temples and shrines that day, which were all very beautiful. We walked for ten hours straight, ai-ya were our feet hot by the end of the day. Then, I went to Hemiji to visit Hemeji Castle and to visit my friend Curtis, who used to go to school with me at UW. It was fun to see a familiar face in a foreign land. Thanks for having me Curtis. I'll come again.:-)
I hope you enjoyed my pictures and my perspective of Japan. See you in Hong Kong and China.
